TDI or TRD?

So I've been alone this entire night trying to entertain myself, my computer is being dumb and won't let me re-duel boot windows onto it, and now I'm searching for a new vehicle. I've narrowed it down to two types, either a Toyota Tacoma, or a Volkswagen diesel Jetta. I've found both near me, but i don't know what to get. my mom keeps telling me she can't see me in a car, because, "you're a truck kinda guy" but at the same time I don't know if I want to keep driving to and from school, a 6 hour trip, with the mileage that i am getting, approximately 15 mpg highway. The Jetta I'm looking at is roughly 41 highway mpg vs. the Tacoma at 20 mpg highway. I'm thinking that the Jetta would be more convenient at school too other than worrying about my fuel getting to cold to run. There's a lot of pro's and con's to each of the cars, if anyone has any ideas of what I schould do I'd love to hear them.

Well this is my very first post in my first blog ever. I've read blogs before, but never thought I'd ever start one. Something about putting my thoughts out to the world never really appealed to me.
